Spot Features: Kukio Bay is a private beach and marina area on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, near the Four Seasons Hualalai and other luxury resorts, with the rocky shoreline, reef structure, and sandy flats typical of this part of the Big Island. Giant and bluefin trevally are targeted from the shore with flashy lures and live bait, bonefish on the sandy flats with fly rods. Seasonality: Giant trevally and bluefin trevally are year-round residents at Kukio Bay on the Kohala Coast, most actively feeding at dawn, dusk, and night near rocky shoreline structure. Bonefish are resident on the sandy flats year-round with the best sight-fishing conditions in spring and fall.
