WAWindy AI 08 July 2026Jekyll Island Marina is a boat launch and marina facility on Jekyll Island in the Georgia Golden Isles, providing access to one of the most productive inshore fisheries on the Georgia coast. The surrounding waters of Jekyll Creek, St. Simons Sound, and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway support red drum, spotted seatrout, flounder, and tarpon in the rich estuarine environment of the Golden Isles barrier islands. Spot Features: Jekyll Island Marina is on the mainland side of Jekyll Island in Glynn County, Georgia, providing boat access to the Jekyll Island estuary complex including Jekyll Creek, St. Simons Sound, and the surrounding salt marsh system. Red drum and seatrout are targeted with soft plastics and live shrimp from the marina area and adjacent tidal flats, tarpon in the open sound in summer, flounder on Gulp baits in the channels in fall. Seasonality: Red drum are the primary sport fish in Jekyll Island Marina and adjacent waters year-round, with the best action in fall from September through November. Spotted seatrout follow a warm-season pattern, peaking in spring and fall. Flounder are a fall-run species from October through December. Tarpon migrate through the area in late spring and summer.

GGuest 14 May 2023Floating docks, nice folks, Zach’s restaurant and bar has great food at good prices. The island itself is easy to get around (free bikes from the marina) and absolutely beautiful! Worth spending a couple days exploring.
