Seasonality: Largemouth bass are the primary year-round sport fish at Lake Bastrop in the mild central Texas climate, with peak activity in spring during the spawning period and in fall. Channel catfish and hybrid striped bass feed actively through the warmer months from spring into fall. Hybrid striped bass school in open water and are most actively caught when they are surface-feeding.
