    Lake Dunlap is a small 280-acre Guadalupe River reservoir in Comal County, Texas, supporting the native Guadalupe bass (Texas state fish), largemouth bass, and striped bass in the clear, cool Hill Country water downstream of Canyon Lake. It is one of the few lakes where anglers can target the iconic Guadalupe bass in an impoundment setting. Spot Features: Lake Dunlap is a small 280-acre reservoir on the Guadalupe River in Comal County, Texas, downstream of Canyon Lake, part of a chain of Guadalupe River power generation lakes. Guadalupe bass (Texas state fish) are native to this section, largemouth bass in the vegetated coves, striped bass by trolling. Seasonality: Largemouth bass and Guadalupe bass are the primary year-round sport fish at Lake Dunlap in the mild Texas Hill Country climate, with peak activity in spring during the spawning period and in fall. Striped bass school in open water through summer and fall. The lake is on the Guadalupe River below Canyon Lake.
