Waterbeach Angling Club
Waterbeach Angling Club

Waterbeach Angling Club was formed in June 1936, by a party of local anglers meeting on the river bank. Then known as 'The Beach Angling Club', the intention was to protect local angling interests against the big clubs from Cambridge, London and Birmingham. Since then, the club has maintained many of these waters and added others, notably a stretch of the Old West with a series of adjoining 'lagoons' at Stretham and Leland Water just off the Waterbeach to Landbeach Road including Atkin's Water and Magpie Lake, and Hatley's Junior Pit in Landbeach. The club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1986 and 25 years later we are celebrated our 75th anniversary in 2011.

Cambridge Motor Boat Club
Cambridge Motor Boat Club

The Cambridge Motor Boat Club is based on the riverside at Waterbeach (about 5 miles north of Cambridge) and is open to boaters and non-boaters alike. We offer a clubhouse, beautiful grounds, and a limited number of moorings. There is a comprehensive calendar of events throughout the year, in addition to the boating activities. We are a very friendly club, and, especially if you are new to the river, there is always someone on hand to help or advise you on anything you need to know about your boat! As we are a self-run club, not a marina, we rely on the involvement and commitment of members to keep it running.
