Thorpeness Meare Boat Hire
Thorpeness Meare Boat Hire

Thorpeness village was built in the 1910s as a private holiday village and retains a wonderful sense of being slightly out of kilter with the world! The Meare is a huge, shallow, boating area with islands (themed around Peter Pan) that you can clamber on to and pretend to be a pirate! Head down to the Meare for a traditional holiday experience, taking out a rowing boat, kayak, punt or sailboat to explore over 40 acres of water and enjoy being on the water as long as you like! Once you’ve navigated past the crocodiles to Pirate’s Island and the Fort (J M Barrie was involved in creating the Meare), head back inland and walk round the village itself.
