City Surf Project
City Surf Project

For many of us, the ocean was our salvation and surfing became the ultimate motivator to focus our energy and efforts in a positive direction. The community and support we found at the beach shaped our lives and made us the people we are today. Through our experience in the water we learned how to work through adversity and develop determination, discipline, and commitment. That’s what motivated us to create the City Surf Project. Knowing what a beneficial impact the ocean had on our own lives, we want to share that experience with the urban youth of San Francisco and inspire them to live a life of fitness and positivity.

Golden Gate Yacht Club
Golden Gate Yacht Club

The Golden Gate Yacht Club was founded in 1939, when members built the first clubhouse on a barge located in the San Francisco Marina. Fifty years later, the Loma Prieta Quake severely damaged the Club, but through the hard work and dedication of our members, the Club rose again to become the showcase facility that now exists. Today, the GGYC is a popular cruise and regatta venue on the San Francisco waterfront, with a dynamic organization of members dedicated to boating fun—both sail and power.
