Seasonality: Rainbow trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon are active at Lower Turquoise Lake from ice-out in late spring through the Colorado summer and into fall. Kokanee are most active in spring and summer before their pre-spawn period in fall. The lake is typically frozen and inaccessible from late fall through spring snowmelt. The open-water season runs approximately June through October.
