Hana Beaman is an American professional snowboarder. She has competed in snowboarding since 1988.

Each year Hanna gets in the top 10 at international snowboard competitions such as the Winter X Games and Burton US Open and the Roxy Chicken Jam.

We asked Hana about her favorite spots — here’s what she answered:

1. Jackson Hole, Wyoming — Amazing terrain, usually really nice light snow (because it’s soooo cold), and super fun crew to ride with, it has always felt like a second home to me. So much fun to ride around the resort and find new featured to jump off of, it’s usually not too crowded and there is easy access to real radical backcountry.

2. Whistler, BC Canada — Whistler is one of the most consistent places I’ve found for good snow. I don't ride the ski resort much anymore but typically use snowmobiles to access the whistler backcountry for powder. It’s so beautiful, lots of sled zones to choose from and endless bowls to explore. I’ve been going there for 16+ years and I’m still surprised at what we find.

3. Alaska — Not much explanation needed for this one. It’s big, humbling and super thrilling. Alaska will make everything else seem mild. Typically, you might only get 2-3 days of heli riding out of a couple weeks but those couple days are unforgettable. You’re also able to ride the resorts there which are super fun and to access backcountry terrain by snowmobile, or touring but a helicopter is the way to go...

4. Snow Basin, UT — A little further away from Salt Lake City but worth the drive for the 5* facilities and uncrowned runs. Powder days here are full of fun and fresh turns with some of the tastiest “lodge food”.

5. Mt Baker, WA — Baker gets huge amounts of snow, isn’t as crowded as most Washington resorts (yet...) and has terrain that ranges from mellow/friendly to insane/deadly. If you’re looking to sniff out the goods on a powder day it takes time to learn and really gain an appreciation of all it has to offer. If you put in the time, you will no doubt fall in love with this place. This mountain is for dedicated snow/winter enthusiasts, plan to be riding in the thick of a snow or rain storm, wear Gore Tex and don't expect to be able to just follow tracks, you can end up in some real compromising places if you don't know where you’re going. Bring your avalanche gear, check the forecast and know what you’re doing if you plan on going out of bounds! That being said, it is the best place ever!
