Spot Features: Massachusetts Bay is the large bay enclosed by Cape Cod to the south and east and the Massachusetts mainland from Boston to Cape Ann to the north, encompassing Stellwagen Bank, the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, and diverse offshore grounds, with excellent striped bass, bluefish, Atlantic cod, haddock, pollock, and black sea bass fishing. Seasonality: Striped bass and bluefish are the primary targets in Massachusetts Bay in Essex and Suffolk counties, Massachusetts, from May through October, with stripers best in spring and fall and bluefish most abundant in summer. Atlantic cod and haddock are year-round bottom fish. Pollock are spring and fall species. Black sea bass are warm-season structure fish.
