The beach is accessible by foot from the Presidio. Seasonality: Striped bass move past Baker Beach in spring (April-June) and fall (September-October) during their San Francisco Bay migrations, the best action is at dawn and dusk in the strong ebb and flood tides. California halibut are present year-round in the nearby sandy bottom areas, with the best action in summer and fall. Barred surf perch are year-round targets in the surf zone, most active in spring and summer.
