The USVI is a recognized destination for flats fishing enthusiasts, where the crystal-clear shallow waters and healthy bonefish populations create outstanding conditions for sight-fishing in a pristine island setting. Spot Features: Devers Bay is a sheltered bay in the US Virgin Islands, with the shallow grass flats, sandy areas, and reef structure typical of USVI coastal environments. Bonefish are sight-cast with fly rods or light spinning tackle on the sandy flats, tarpon are targeted in the mangrove channels and bay openings with live bait and large flies, yellowtail snapper and barracuda are caught on jigs and cut bait near the reef and rocky structure. Seasonality: Bonefish are resident on the flats adjacent to Devers Bay in the US Virgin Islands year-round, with the best sight-fishing conditions in spring and fall on calm, clear days. Tarpon move through the bay year-round with the best action in spring and summer when large fish congregate near the flats. Yellowtail snapper and barracuda are year-round reef fish.
