Fidalgo Bay is a sheltered marine bay adjacent to Anacortes in Skagit County, Washington, offering diverse fishing for cabezon rockfish, staging Chinook and coho salmon, and Dungeness crab in the protected waters between Fidalgo Island and the Skagit County mainland. Cabezon by jigging near rocky structure, salmon by trolling, crab with ring nets from boats or docks. Seasonality: Cabezon and other rockfish are year-round residents of Fidalgo Bay near Anacortes, most accessible in spring and fall near rocky structure. Chinook salmon stage in late summer through fall (August-October) before entering the Skagit River and other Puget Sound tributaries. Coho salmon follow from September through November. Dungeness crab are harvested year-round in the bay.
