The USVI's pristine coral reef environments support some of the most diverse and productive reef fishing in the Caribbean region. Spot Features: Nazareth Bay is a sheltered marine bay in the US Virgin Islands (likely St. Thomas or St. Croix) with coral reef structure, sandy bottom, and the clear tropical water characteristic of Caribbean coastal environments. Yellowtail and mangrove snapper are caught on small jigs, cut bait, and live shrimp near the reef, great barracuda are sight-cast with flashy lures and live bait in the open water and near the reef edges. Seasonality: Yellowtail snapper and mangrove snapper are year-round residents of Nazareth Bay and the surrounding USVI reef system, most actively feeding at night and during twilight periods. Great barracuda are year-round predators found near the reef and in the water column. The stable tropical climate of the US Virgin Islands allows fishing in all 12 months.
