Helm of Sun Valley has been in business in San Mateo for more then 50 years.  There aren't a whole lot of businesses that can say that and we're proud of it.  The cornerstone of our ski business is boot fitting. Most of our boot fitters have over 10 years of experience and Gary, the owner, has over 30 years of experience.  We know how to fit boots plus we do all kinds of custom fitting.   All of our employees participate in the sports that we sell and we feel it is very important to know what we are taking about.  We strive to have insightful knowledge about the sports we sell, cutting through the all the rhetoric and getting down to the nitty gritty.

Wind Over Water's professional instructors teach lessons in San Francisco Bay and Sherman Island utilizing instruction techniques developed from 75 years of combined experience. From our private dock, instructors teach using four jetskis and a boat - providing the ultimate instruction while you are riding.

Nor Cal Surf Shop was started in Pedro Point Pacifica Linda Mar in 1991. Nor Cal is a dedicated Surf Shop with a huge range of Surf Boards, Surf Apparel and Wet Suits. If your a core surfer or just starting out, Nor Cal is the shop for you. We teach Surf Lessons, Kiteboarding, Snowkiting and Skate Lessons!!!

Since 2004, the University of Surfing has dedicated itself to offering and documenting the best surfing experience possible. The University of Surfing is professional, local, friendly and All Inclusive. We offer year round surf lessons for the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. University of Surfing is located 15 minutes south of San Francisco at the gorgeous and tame South Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica,CA. All group surf lessons are scheduled around the proper tide (low and incoming) to ensure safe learning conditions for our students. Instructors are CPR and First Aid certified. Surf etiquette and ocean safety are very important to us; while the ocean can be calming and peaceful, its force and your fellow surfers must be respected. Serving the surfing community since 1985. We provide sales and service that pertain specifically to the sport of surfing. We rent surfboards and wetsuits. We also provide expert ding repair for your damaged surfboard.

Pacifica is home to one of the best fishing piers in the state. Because of the number and quality of the fish caught off Pacifica's shores, the pier has earned a number one ranking among anglers in the Bay Area. Although fishing can be good year round, many consider the summer months to be the best when salmon and striped bass can be caught. No admission is charged and no fishing license is required at the Pacifica Municipal Pier.
