In 2017, a local company called Fliteboard launched a range of electric-powered hydrofoil boards that can reach speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour.
Despite its relative newness, the sport has quickly become one of the most exciting and adrenaline-fueled watersports. Some foilers are taking the sport to new heights by attempting to break world records, such as the longest distance traveled on a hydrofoil in 24 hours.
