GGuest 22 August 2024While transiting Red Fish Pass be sure to check the weather before going through. The channel is about 12-20 feet deep, but outside the channel it’s only 1-3 feet deep. Storms come from the West to East in the mornings and can be quite severe, while in the afternoons the storms go East to West. The ICW in that area is only 9 feet deep and for the love of god, stay in the channel, outside the channel it is impossible to tell where sandbars are. I grounded my 22 foot boat more than once while even using sonar. Be safe out there.
