WAWindy AI 08 July 2026Pass-a-Grille Beach at the southern end of St. Pete Beach is one of Pinellas County's most scenic and productive inshore fishing locations, where the tidal flows of Pass-a-Grille Channel, the grass flats of Tampa Bay, and the Gulf surf converge to produce exceptional snook, redfish, spotted seatrout, and pompano fishing. Spot Features: Pass-a-Grille Beach is the southern end of St. Pete Beach on the barrier island in Pinellas County, Florida, adjacent to Pass-a-Grille Channel, the southern entrance to Tampa Bay, with productive inshore fishing for snook, redfish, seatrout, pompano, and flounder in the tidal passes, grass flats, and channels surrounding this historic Gulf Coast beach community. Seasonality: Snook, redfish (red drum), and spotted seatrout are the primary inshore species at Pass-a-Grille Beach in Pinellas County, Florida, year-round, with snook most active in the warmer months, redfish year-round with a fall peak, and seatrout best in spring and fall. Pompano and flounder are fall species. Sheepshead are cool-season structure fish.

GGuest 27 October 2021This place is beautiful all year long. Amazing beach, lots to do, to eat, to drink and to relax. There are shuttles to Shell Island and gulf fishing boat goes out twice a day from Merry Pier. You could try booking a room in any hotel there but they are often already sold out. There are also several good places to eat: Sea Horse, Grace, The Dewey, Brass Monkey, The Hurricane, Paradise Grill, Sea Critters, The Wharf, and Gennaro’s.
