In a series of recent updates, we’ve improved the WindHub app for sailing in the five areas. Try each of them, compare them with previous versions and let us know what you think.
Updates to the WindHub app for iOS and Android
New wind animation is now available on the Weather Map. It became several times clearer and also smoother, with more white color, which is even easier to perceive. It's so great now that you can feel the wind on your fingertips as you touch the screen. To see it, simply activate the Wind or Wind Gusts layers on the Weather Map.

There is a new weather model in the app — a WRF numerical model for Japan and South Korea. This is the same OpenWRF (Open Weather Research and Forecasting) model by the University of Athens, but customized by the Windy.app team for the new Asian region. You can activate it under one icon for both Asia and Europe at a time.

You can now add any of 17,000+ marinas, ports and docks in the WindHub's database to your list of Favorite Marinas so that you don't need to search for them each time you start the application. To add it, tap on the star icon in the top right corner next to the name of the marina — the icon will turn orange.

A new small content section has appeared right above the list of weather models in the lower-left corner of the screen. If you’re new to yachting and/or meteorology, you can easily find out what the weather model abbreviations mean: ICON13, ECMWF, GFS, etc., and what their main features are.

Some of the colors of the application have changed, so you can find the information on the screen faster, better read it and remember it.
