Aerial photography is the taking of photographs from light aircraft and other flying machines. The same thing but with video is called aerial videography.
It is one of the most interesting genres of photo(video)graphy that allows you to see an area — usually natural landscapes, various separate structures, and entire cities — from a bird's-eye view. With the development of drones, it become more popular. Now you can get a panoramic picture (or video) directly from the ground, it is not necessary to rent a plane anymore, which is often simply expensive and also requires special skills to shoot from a moving plane.
