Tip #6: Add an outdoor spot to Favorites in the Windy.app
Among 100+ Windy.app features, there are always one or two, or even three small ones that you didn't know about, right? Even if you're a true weather and outdoor expert using the app. Meanwhile, these may be small, but important features.
For example, you can add an outdoor spot or any point on the map to your Favorites in the app. Why make a spot favorite? So it will appear on the Home screen of the app, from where you can have the fastest access to it, as well as in other places in the app.
Here’s exactly how you can do it:
1. Find and open any spot in the app, including the nearest spots that the app shows to you (for this, turn on the geolocation function in your smartphone’s Settings). You can find sports through a search on the Home screen or on the Weather Map.

2. Here on the Weather Map, click on the star icon to add the spot to your favorites, or go to the Spot screen and click on the same icon to the right of the spot name.

3. Your favorite spots now appear on the app’s Home screen.
For example, winter is coming, so for this tip, we have chosen three major ski resorts in the Dolomites, Italy, in three regions: Cortina d’Ampezzo in Veneto, Kronplatz in Bolzano / South Tyrol, and Madonna di Campiglio in Trentino. These are expensive, but very good places for skiing.
Add them to your Favorites too and use the Snow Weather Profile in the app to get the special weather forecast for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports.

4. If you have a lot of favorite spots, on the Home screen you can pin one or more spots so that they are always at the top of the list. To do so click on the spot name and hold the finger for a second. To unpin the spot, do the same.

5. Spots also appeared in the Favorites section of your profile. Here you can show or hide them for other users.

6. To remove a spot from your Favorites, there are three ways:
- On the Home screen, click again on the spot name and choose "Delete"
- On the Weather Map, click on the same star icon
- On the Spot screen, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and then on “Unmark as favorite”

7. You can also share your favorite spot with friends by clicking on the “Share” icon to the right of the spot name on the Spot Screen. It appears when you add a spot to Favorites instead of the star icon.
