Hey there! Thank you for installing Windy.app and becoming a part of the community of millions of users worldwide.
The Windy.app is designed to provide adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts with the most accurate, slightly more elaborate weather forecast than just “hot or cold” — one including wind speed, direction and gusts, precipitation, pressure, and other features.
All the main features are available for free. Windy.app Pro gives you access to additional features and more precise forecast models.
Learn how to use Windy.app for iOS in 5 easy and quick steps:
1. Find an outdoor spot
2. Get the weather forecast
3. Check the real-time weather
4. Use the weather map
5. Ask advice in community
The Windy.app database contains tens of thousands of spots for various sports: kitesurfing, windsurfing and surfing, diving, fishing, yachting, and ski resorts, with detailed information about them. There are also spots for outdoor activities in general.
You can find a spot in three ways:
1. On the Home screen of the app, which prompts you for the nearest spots to your current location. But first, activate the Geolocation feature in your phone’s Settings.
2. Through the search on the Home screen and the Weather Map. Simply enter the name of the spot or its geographic geographic coordinates: latitude and longitude.
3. On the Weather Map via visual icon-search. To find a spot faster, remove unnecessary spots (fishing if you are a surfer) in the map settings.

Compare weather forecasts from different models to choose the most accurate one using special Compare Mode feature. In brief, it works like this: if the lines are close to each other it is more trustworthy; if they are far away it is not trustworthy. Why compare the weather at all? Because as you can see yourself, the forecasts from different models differ, sometimes very much.
